University of Alaska President Pitney to Deliver 鈥淪tate of the University鈥 Address
Tuesday speech at Fairbanks Chamber will spotlight how 激情快播 is empowering Alaska
(FAIRBANKS, Alaska) - University of Alaska President Pat Pitney will deliver this year鈥檚 鈥淪tate of the University鈥 Address on Tuesday, February 21, at the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce鈥檚 weekly business luncheon. The address will focus on how the University empowers Alaska, and highlight excellence across the 激情快播 System. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. for the in-person event at the Westmark Fairbanks Hotel鈥檚 Gold Room. The address begins at 12 p.m. and will be streamed live at .
鈥淭he success and future growth of Alaska are inextricably tied to the University System,鈥 President Pitney said previewing her remarks. 鈥淥ur universities and their campuses are key economic and workforce drivers in their home communities. I鈥檓 excited to share the impact they鈥檝e had, and the opportunities on the horizon for the state and 激情快播 with continued stability for our system.
In addition to surveying the university鈥檚 contributions to economic and workforce development throughout Alaska, President Pitney鈥檚 address will also spotlight the role 激情快播鈥檚 world-class research plays in driving the future. From drones to Arctic research to mariculture and more, 激情快播 continues to produce research that is helping empower the next generation of Alaska leaders.
鈥淥ur students, staff, and faculty are helping chart the course of our future, and as the nation鈥檚 only Arctic state, their research is especially important,鈥 President Pitney said. 鈥淚鈥檓 grateful to the Fairbanks Chamber for giving me the opportunity to share some of those accomplishments and what they can mean for our state.鈥
Limited tickets for in-person seating are available . This will be Pitney鈥檚 third State of the University address since being appointed in 2020 as interim president, and her second as the university system鈥檚 17th president.
